We develop products such as Toniq Dispensary, Toniq Retail, Toniq Guard, Toniq Vault, Toniq Corporate, and 1CHART to support pharmacies, aged-care providers, and healthcare professionals. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone whose information we handle. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard personal information.
This policy in intended to meet Toniq’s obligations under the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).

Toniq provides systems that healthcare organisations use to manage patient records. The healthcare provider remains responsible for the information they enter. Toniq processes that information only to provide and support our services. Patients seeking access or correction should contact their healthcare provider.
Sharing your information
We may share personal information with service providers such as hosting and IT support partners, system integration partners, professional advisers, and government agencies when required by law. We do not sell personal information. If information is transferred overseas, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
Security
We take privacy and security seriously. We use layered security measures including encryption, access controls, secure hosting, monitoring, backups, and ongoing security reviews to protect information.
Retention
Personal information is kept only for as long as needed to provide our services or comply with legal obligations. Pharmacies manage retention of clinical records within their Toniq systems.

Patients should contact their pharmacy or healthcare provider to request access to or correction of their health information. Individuals who interact directly with Toniq may contact us for access to or correction of their information. We respond within 20 working days.
Privacy breaches
If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, Toniq will notify the affected provider and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required and assist with appropriate notifications.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled, please contact us in the first instance. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
